To install SP2 or not install SP2

Just a few days after MS announce the RTM of SP2, it was made available on their site (all 266 MB of it). This release has been anticipated more than almost any software release including Windows 95!! There are more updates & improvements than I could possibly list here, but I will hit the hilights: Popup blocker for IE, Windows Firewall, Security Center, a roll up of all pre SP2 patches & hot fixes, etc, etc, etc. For the average owner who has only one pc, this update will not be a major ordeal, but be warned, a upgrade of this magnitude has the potential to bring you machine down to a complete halt. In my experiences, I only had a couple minor problems, but consider yourself warned DO A COMPLETE & TOTAL BACKUP!!!!!!!!! DON'T TAKE AN UNNECESSARY RISK OF LOOSING YOUR DATA FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only problems I have encountered so far is having to re-run the network setup wizard to get my network functioning, & having to manually configure Windows Firewall to allow Ultra VNC to work over my network. I have not tried running every single app on my machines, but so far-so good!!! For coorporate admins MS has made scripts & policies available for download to postpone the downloading of SP2 in the background until testing can be done to insure that all mission critical & custom apps preform as required before they commit to the upgrade. MS is really trying hard to make this an easy & pain free upgrade. Seems that now more than ever they have their users security & privacy in the correct place.....FIRST!!!!!!!!!!
